These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern all purchases made through www.henrydefreycinet.com (the “Website”), operated by Henry de Freycinet (“we”, “our”, “us”).
By placing an order through our Website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms.
Henry de Freycinet is a French luxury Maison creating handcrafted trunks made exclusively to order.
Every trunk is individually crafted in our workshop in Montcaret, France, using carefully selected European materials and traditional artisan techniques.
No stock is maintained. Every order constitutes a bespoke commission.
Due to the handcrafted nature of our creations:
• each trunk is individually made by hand;
• natural variations in leather grain, colour and texture are inherent characteristics of premium materials;
• dimensions and finishes may present slight artisanal variations;
• photographs displayed on the Website are illustrative and may differ slightly from the final product.
Such variations shall not be considered defects.
Orders may be placed through our online boutique.
Upon receipt of your order, our workshop will contact you to confirm your commission and any applicable details.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order in exceptional circumstances, including payment issues, suspected fraud or inability to fulfil the commission.
Every Henry de Freycinet trunk is manufactured exclusively after an order has been accepted.
Production begins only after receipt of the required deposit.
Estimated production time is currently 10 to 14 weeks, although this may vary depending on workshop capacity and seasonal demand.
Production times are estimates only and shall not constitute guaranteed delivery dates.
To preserve the timeless identity of Henry de Freycinet, personalisation is intentionally limited.
Customers may currently select between:
• Navy Blue leather
• Heritage Green leather
All other design elements remain at the sole discretion of Henry de Freycinet.
All prices displayed on the Website are expressed in the applicable currency.
Prices may include or exclude VAT depending on the destination country.
Shipping charges, duties and taxes are calculated during checkout or communicated before final payment.
We reserve the right to modify prices at any time prior to acceptance of an order.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required before production begins.

• final photographs;
• the balance invoice;
• shipping confirmation upon payment.
The remaining balance must be paid in full before shipment.
Ownership of the trunk remains with Henry de Freycinet until full payment has been received.

Once production has begun, the deposit becomes non-refundable.
After completion of the trunk, cancellation is no longer possible.

The following provisions form an integral part of the Henry de Freycinet Terms & Conditions of Sale.
Henry de Freycinet exclusively selects premium European full-grain leathers renowned for their beauty, durability and authenticity.
As a natural material, leather may display unique characteristics including variations in grain, texture, colour, natural markings, veins or subtle tonal differences. These features are inherent to genuine leather and contribute to the individuality of each trunk.
Over time, leather will naturally develop a rich patina, reflecting its age and the life of its owner. This evolution is considered an essential part of the character and beauty of the product and shall not be regarded as a defect.
Every Henry de Freycinet trunk is handcrafted by skilled artisans.
Minor variations in stitching, finishing, dimensions or handcrafted details are the natural result of artisanal production and demonstrate the authenticity of the manufacturing process.
Such variations do not affect the functionality, quality or value of the trunk.
To preserve the beauty of your trunk, we recommend:
• storing it in a dry, temperate environment;
• avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight;
• protecting it from excessive humidity or heat;
• avoiding contact with oils, solvents, perfumes or abrasive substances;
• cleaning only with a soft dry cloth.
Leather conditioners or specialist products should only be used following the recommendations of Henry de Freycinet.
Improper care may permanently alter the appearance of natural leather and is not covered by warranty.
When not in use, your trunk should ideally be stored:
• indoors;
• away from excessive humidity;
• away from direct heat sources;
• with adequate ventilation.
Where supplied, protective covers should be used to protect the leather while allowing natural air circulation.
Henry de Freycinet believes that exceptional objects should accompany their owners throughout their lifetime and beyond.
Subject to availability of materials and technical feasibility, Henry de Freycinet may offer restoration, repair or maintenance services for its trunks.
Each request is individually assessed by our workshop.
Repair services may be subject to quotation, transportation costs and workshop availability.
Henry de Freycinet trunks are designed as lasting heirlooms rather than seasonal luxury goods.
Every trunk is handcrafted to accompany generations of owners, reflecting the enduring traditions of French craftsmanship and the spirit of exploration that inspires Henry de Freycinet.
Natural ageing and the development of patina contribute to the authenticity and history of each piece.
Each trunk bears a unique serial number permanently identifying the piece.
Every commission is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity confirming:
• its individual production;
• its French origin;
• its craftsmanship;
• its unique serial number.
Loss of the certificate does not affect ownership but replacement certificates may only be issued at the sole discretion of Henry de Freycinet following appropriate verification.
Orders shipped outside France or the European Union may be subject to:
• customs duties;
• import taxes;
• local VAT or GST;
• customs clearance fees.
Unless otherwise expressly stated, these charges remain the sole responsibility of the purchaser.
Henry de Freycinet has no control over customs procedures and cannot guarantee customs processing times.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that the products comply with local import regulations applicable in their country.
Risk of loss or damage passes to the customer upon delivery of the shipment to the address specified in the order.
Ownership of the product shall transfer only upon receipt of full payment.
Until full payment of the purchase price, including all applicable taxes and shipping costs, the trunk shall remain the exclusive property of Henry de Freycinet.
Failure to complete payment may result in cancellation of the order and retention of amounts legally due.
To protect both our clients and Henry de Freycinet, Henry de Freycinet reserves the right to:
• request additional identity verification;
• verify billing and payment information;
• suspend processing of an order pending verification;
• refuse or cancel any transaction reasonably suspected of fraud or unlawful activity.
Any refunded payment following cancellation for security reasons shall be returned using the original payment method whenever possible.
Henry de Freycinet sources exceptional materials from carefully selected European suppliers.
In the rare event that a particular leather, fitting or component becomes unavailable, Henry de Freycinet reserves the right to substitute an equivalent material of comparable quality after consultation with the client.
Should no satisfactory alternative be available, the client may elect to postpone production or receive a full refund of any amounts paid.
We make every reasonable effort to display product colours accurately on the Website.
However, colours may vary depending on monitor settings, mobile devices and lighting conditions.
Accordingly, slight differences between photographs and the finished product shall not constitute a defect.
Each trunk is individually prepared using premium protective packaging designed for international transport.
Packaging is intended to ensure maximum protection during shipment but is not designed as long-term storage packaging.
Henry de Freycinet is committed to producing in limited quantities through a made-to-order model.
This approach minimises unnecessary production, avoids excess inventory and honours the principles of responsible craftsmanship by creating only what has been commissioned.
These Terms & Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy and any order confirmation issued by Henry de Freycinet, constitute the entire agreement between the parties relating to the purchase of our products.
Should any provision of these Terms be held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Henry de Freycinet reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
The version applicable to an order shall be the version published on the Website at the time the order is placed.
